A getting-to-know-you event connecting new students to the Physical Sciences community through casual, candid discussions with Physical Sciences alumni, faculty, and current undergraduates.
Starting a new phase of your life in an unfamiliar environment can be stressful; we want you to know that we are here to support you. The UCLA Division of Physical Sciences wants you to know that we provide not only a supportive community, but that we are here to welcome you with resources and people ready to help you succeed.

Food • Giveaways • Music • Great people!
This event is geared toward new students interested in a Physical Sciences major/minor and begins with a welcome from Dean of Physical Sciences Miguel García-Garibay. This will be followed by a panel of alumni answering some of your most common questions about the keys to success as a UCLA student. We will conclude with an outdoor reception where students will meet the professors they are most likely to learn from during their first year, talk with upperclassmen about their experiences, and interact with alumni who’ve gone on to a wide variety of careers.
Students who attend will have the opportunity to enter into a raffle for a gift from Dean Miguel García-Garibay.
If you cannot attend in person, please RSVP so that we can send you a link to the recording of the event.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email us at physicalscience@ucla.edu.
We can’t wait to meet you!
