Todd Hall is a Senior Meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Los Angeles office in Oxnard, California. Over his almost 25-year career, he has served in four different National Weather Service Forecast Offices, serving the last 18 years in his current position. He is a two-time recipient of the NWS Western Region Isaac Cline Award for Diversity and Leadership, received the National Weather Service’s Diversity Excellence Award, and selected twice for the Department of Commerce’s prestigious Bronze Medal for his actions during the 2007 California Wildfires and for developing the National Weather Service’s Diversity Training Curriculum.
He currently serves as the chair of the National Weather Service’s Diversity Training Team, as a National Weather Service Diversity Ambassador, and a past chairperson of the National Weather Service’s Western Region Diversity Committee. He is the co-developer of the “Weather Calculator,” Google’s #1 searched resource for computing weather parameters and computations. Locally, he has spearheaded efforts to reach out to southern California colleges and universities in helping found the California Consortium of Colleges for Weather and Climate. He also serves as a mentor to students in NOAA’s Hollings Scholarship and Hollings Preparation Programs, and is a past mentor of UCLA’s Alumni Mentoring Program.
