Albert Lu is first generation Asian American college student that started at UCLA as an undeclared physical sciences major. He had aspirations to make the world a better place but didn’t know where to start. Eventually he found his way to environmental science, where the passionate faculty and fellow students led him to graduating with that degree in 2014, and promptly starting a career as an environmental scientist at the California Department of Water Resources. He worked there for 7 years, working to construct and maintain California’s largest water infrastructure projects and implement environmental policy and regulation. After 4 years, he knew he wanted to pivot his career to sustainability, and studied part-time to earn a masters in environmental engineering at USC. In 2023, he finally made that jump, working as a sustainability analyst for KERAMIDA’s sustainability consulting division. He specializes in greenhouse gas data inventory data management and modeling, but often extends beyond that as well.

His clients range from industries such as tech, entertainment, media, banking and financial services, energy, manufacturing, real estate, insurance, marketing, and utility services. His diverse skillset, experience, and background knowledge that he gained through his studies at UCLA and USC, as well as the public sector, allowed him to quickly rise to a senior role within the company. He enjoys mentoring the juniors he oversees, as well as undergrads and recent graduates of his alma mater, UCLA. His hope is that one day he can affect positive change on a grand scale, implementing sustainability into products and services that we use in our everyday lives across the world.
