Amna Syeda is a non-traditional college graduate who earned her B.S. in Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences with Mathematics from UCLA in Dec 2025. During her time at UCLA, she volunteered as a research assistant in the Department of Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences, contributing to wildfire–climate interaction studies and environmental data analysis using Python. She also collaborated on an AMS conference project, supporting scientific communication and data‑driven research efforts within the atmospheric sciences community.

With over fourteen years of experience as a math tutor, Amna has supported K–12 and college students across Southern California, including her work at Los Angeles Harbor College and the CUB Club (through Berkley). She is dedicated to making math accessible through clear communication, step‑by‑step guidance, and student‑centered teaching.

Throughout her undergraduate studies, Amna completed the full calculus sequence and advanced coursework in climate and ocean sciences. She has developed growing expertise in environmental data analysis, working with Python, R, and SQL to explore climate hazards, wildfire impacts, and atmospheric processes. She is passionate about environmental resilience, community education, and expanding access to STEM pathways.

Amna is preparing to begin her M.S. in Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences in Fall 2027 and is actively pursuing federal scientific roles, including NOAA’s Recent Graduate Program. She strives to bridge math, climate science, and public service—helping students, communities, and agencies better understand and respond to environmental change.
